Hotel Boutique Castillo Ines Maria, Cartagena

I had such a wonderful stay at this charming little hotel just outside the walled city of Cartagena! The staff went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed and comfortable. The breakfasts were a highlight each morning with fresh juices and a variety of dishes. The location was perfect, just a short stroll to major attractions and close to the vibrant Getsemani neighborhood. However, while the hotel lacks some luxurious features, the warmth and attention to detail from the staff made it more than worth it.

I checked in on Christmas Eve with my daughter and had a really disappointing experience. We encountered multiple issues like no hot water and a malfunctioning hair dryer, which took a long time to address. The room wasn’t cleaned the next day, and there were no blankets provided, making for a very uncomfortable stay. However, the staff did have a Christmas Eve dinner event, which felt more like a distraction than a solution to our problems. Overall, I can't recommend this place due to the poor service and lack of basic amenities.

My room was cozy and filled with unique antiques that really gave it character. The staff was incredibly attentive and went out of their way to assist us, which I truly appreciated. However, it was a bit noisy at times due to the street sounds outside, and I wished for more variety at breakfast. Overall, this place is a fantastic value for the experience it offers.
